Milano

Arriving in Milan was interesting' deboarding on the tarmac to awaiting buses. Weather was sunny and warm and the adventure of finding Larry's checked items and renting the Mini took about an hour. Then our excitement turned to sheer terror as I, at once, attempted to learn the Mini shift pattern, clutch, finding my way to the "Uscita" which were everywhere but seemed to lead in circles. Compounded by an annoying bleepblurp noise that Larry attributed to the Mini objecting to my driving style. We later learned the bleepblurp was a loose rear hatch that activated on acceleration. Italian driving...my knuckles are white a day later. I'm still breathless, but adapted. After tackling the autostrada and a maze of small side streets we found Hotel Mirage....which had a hidden automatic car garage, our bellhop revealed that there are 23 pallets of cars beneath the hotel and are retrieved in a fascinating process.
Meanwhile Johann waits at the elevators, which, in Europe, are rarely larger than two peope with floors numbered from 0. Odd.
